ACUS41 KWBC 151459 SCCNS1 Storm Summary Number 1 for Texas to Lower Mississippi Valley Heavy Rainfall NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 1100 AM EDT Mon Jun 15 2026 ...Heavy rainfall is occurring over central and southern Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley... For a detailed graphical depiction of the latest watches, warnings and advisories, please see www.weather.gov At 1000 AM EDT...NWS radar and surface observations depict numerous clusters of thunderstorms in Texas located along and ahead of a slow moving cold front located across central Texas. Additional showers and locally heavy thunderstorms were streaming in from the south across southern Texas associated with a surge of tropical moisture. Farther east into Louisiana and Mississippi, a line of slow moving showers and thunderstorms are occurring south of a draped frontal boundary in the lower Mississippi Valley. ...Selected preliminary Storm Total Rainfall in inches from 1000 AM EDT Tue Jun 0 through 1000 AM EDT Thu Jun 0... ...TEXAS... CALDWELL 1.9 NW 7.13 BURLINGTON 6.1 W 6.95 BOERNE 6.66 WACO 3.4 S 6.19 LAKEHILLS 0.8 WSW 6.08 KNIPPA 0.2 N 5.85 COLLEGE STATION 2.4 E 4.94 CEDAR PARK 0.3 SSE 4.72 JOHNSON CITY 4.60 SAN ANTONIO 2.80 Locally heavy rainfall should continue today across central and southern Texas as deep tropical moisture characterized by PWATS over 2 inches interacts with a quasi-stationary frontal boundary. Precipitation will be enhanced along and south of this boundary with hourly rainfall rates in the 2-3 inch plus possible in this moist environment. Overall, additional rainfall amounts of 3-5 inches with higher local maxima are in the forecast today with more significant flash flooding possible. Louisiana and Mississippi may also scattered instances of flash flooding with the potential of training thunderstorms south of a frontal boundary expected to stall in the region. Going into Tuesday and Wednesday, a similar environment of rich tropical moisture and enhanced lift from a stationary front, along with a forming area of low pressure, will promote daily heavy rainfall for southern and eastern Texas into Louisiana. Some flash flooding could be locally significant. The threat for flash flooding should slowly shift eastward through the middle of the week. The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at 1100 PM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather Service office for additional information on this event. Wilder $$
