About Stormlio
Built on 25 years of designing professional weather platforms, Stormlio puts the depth of a forecasting desk — official tropical products and numerical models, side by side — within reach of anyone who wants the real data.
Data sources
- National Hurricane Center (NHC)
- Tropical cyclone advisories (TCP/TCD/TCM), the Tropical Weather Outlook, Tropical Weather Discussion, best-track and forecast data, and GIS overlays (cone, track, wind radii, watches & warnings).
- NWS / NDFD
- The National Digital Forecast Database — the National Weather Service's gridded point forecasts for the United States.
- ECMWF HRES
- The European Centre's high-resolution global model, via its open-data release (licensed CC-BY-4.0). Used for global coverage and as a second opinion alongside NDFD.
How forecasts combine
Where both are available, the point forecast prefers NDFD while it is fresh and falls back to ECMWF HRES otherwise; each row is labelled with the source it came from. We never hide a gap behind an interpolated value — missing data renders as an explicit “—”.
