SUMMARY OF 800 AM MST...1500 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...19.5N 108.5W ABOUT 190 MI...310 KM WSW OF CABO CORRIENTES MEXICO MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...60 MPH...95 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...WSW OR 250 DEGREES AT 7 MPH...11 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...999 MB...29.50 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 AM MST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Trudy was located near latitude 19.5 North, longitude 108.5 West. Trudy is moving toward the west-southwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A westward to west-southwestward motion is expected through tonight, followed by a gradual turn toward the northwest on Tuesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is expected over the next couple of days, and Trudy is forecast to degenerate to a post-tropical cyclone by early Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells generated by Trudy will continue affecting portions of the coast of southwestern and west-central Mexico today. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. Please consult products from your local weather office.
