For a detailed graphical depiction of the latest watches, warnings and advisories, please see www.weather.gov At 1000 PM EDT...The coastal low was gradually weakening and had become nearly stationary off the Mid-Atlantic coast. There were two occluded lows, one off the North Carolina coast with a minimum central pressure of 1008 mb (29.77 in Hg) and one just off the Delaware coast with a minimum central pressure of 1007 mb (29.74 in Hg). The lows were connected by relatively weak frontal boundaries that parallel the shoreline. The strongest winds were observed on the northern side of the system where winds were gusting 35-45+ mph from New Jersey to Cape Cod. Strong onshore winds resulted in significant coastal flooding and dangerous beach conditions along the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England coasts today. National Weather Service radar also showed that this storm system was producing scattered light to moderate rain showers across the northern Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. ...Selected preliminary Storm Total Rainfall in inches from 1000 AM EDT Sat Oct 11 through 1000 PM EDT Mon Oct 13... ...CONNECTICUT... ACUS44 KWBC 130249 SCCNS4 Storm Summary Number 2 for East Coast Coastal Storm NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 1100 PM EDT Sun Oct 12 2025 ...A strong coastal storm is bringing high winds, rain, and significant coastal impacts to the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England... ...Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories are in effect along the coast from North Carolina to Rhode Island... ...Storm Warnings and Gale Warnings are in effect for the coastal waters from Virginia to southern Maine... ...High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories are in effect along the coast from Virginia to Cape Cod... For a detailed graphical depiction of the latest watches, warnings and advisories, please see www.weather.gov At 1000 PM EDT...A strong coastal storm was located offshore of the Mid-Atlantic, slowly moving northwards. The main low was located just off the North Carolina coast with a minimum central pressure of 1001 mb (29.56 in Hg), and an occluded front extended across eastern North Carolina to a triple point low off the Maryland coast. From the triple point, a cold front extended south and southwest towards the Florida Keys and a warm front extended northeast out into the Atlantic. This system was creating a tight pressure gradient along the U.S. East Coast, resulting in strong onshore winds gusting 40-50+ mph, which were contributing to dangerous surf and coastal flooding in the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England. Additionally, this system was producing moderate to locally heavy rain across the Mid-Atlantic region. ...Selected preliminary Storm Total Rainfall in inches from 1000 AM EDT Sat Oct 11 through 1000 PM EDT Sun Oct 12... ...NEW JERSEY... Strong onshore winds, high surf, and high astronomical tides will lead to major coastal flooding in the Mid-Atlantic, and East Coast beaches will experience strong rip currents and areas of beach erosion. Damaging wind gusts in excess of 55 mph are expected to continue along the immediate Mid-Atlantic and southern New England coastlines, which may lead to power outages and damage. Locally heavy rain may cause isolated instances of flash flooding in coastal regions. The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at 1100 AM EDT.
