Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ

.WHAT HAS CHANGED...
Added a brief discussion about spotty minor tidal flooding
through tomorrow morning.

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Spotty minor tidal flooding expected with the morning high
tide through Thursday morning.

2. No other significant weather concerns this week.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGE 1...Spotty minor tidal flooding expected with the
morning high tide through Thursday Morning.

Elevated astro tides from the recent full moon and weak onshore
flow earlier in the week has resulted in some spotty minor tidal
flooding across portions of the southern NJ and Delaware
coastline and areas within Delaware Bay. Some areas could get
close to widespread minor tidal flooding, such as Bowers Beach,
DE and areas in Cape May County later this morning but elected
to hold off on any advisories for now.

For those same areas, some spotty minor tidal flooding is
possible tomorrow morning, but tide levels should be lower than
this morning. No tidal flooding expected on the tidal Delaware
River, northern NJ coast, or Chesapeake Bay.

KEY MESSAGE 2...No other significant weather concerns this
week.

High pressure centered over New England will build east and then move
offshore tonight. A weak cold front passes through the region Friday,
and then high pressure returns for the weekend. Low pressure may
approach the region for the start of next week.

With high pressure remaining north/northeast of the area today,
we expect another sunny and dry day. High temps will range from
the upper 50s/low 60s across the far N/W areas to the mid/upper
60s elsewhere. These temps a bit above normal for Oct. 28.

After that, dry conditions through Saturday with high temperatures
generally from the mid and upper 60s on Wednesday to the mid
70s or so by Friday. Cooler, but still slightly above normal
temperatures expected for this weekend. Rain may arrive on
Sunday or Monday depending on the timing, strength, and
placement of that aforementioned low pressure system.
